Executive Secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation,
NICO, Dr. Barclay Ayakoroma, yesterday, insisted that state police was
not the best antidote to the country’s insecurity problem.
Ayakoroma, who stated this while addressing newsmen on the
forthcoming cultural conference to address insecurity in the country,
however, noted that what the country needed was training, retraining,
equipment and payment of good salaries.
He said: “The difference between the decentralisation and
centralisation of the Police Force is the control. Every governor is
the chief security officer of his state, just as the local government
chairman is the chief security officer in his area.”
