The Minister of Petroleum Diezani
Allison-Madueke says fuel subsidies accounts for the high level of
corruption in the downstream oil sector and its removal will help
cleanse the system.
She urged Nigerians to look at the bigger picture notwithstanding the immediate hardships brought about by subsidy removal.
She explained that this move will also help the rehabilitation and establishment of domestic refineries which is expected to be up and running in the next two to three years.
She assures that the issue of pump pricing will balance out soon enough and also insists that dialogue between the federal government and labour unions should be embraced.
