Samuel Eto'o has blamed the poor state of Russia's pitches for a goal drought that has seen him fail to score in the last five games.
Anzhi Makhachkala's star forward has not been on the scoresheet in Russia's top flight since 5 November.
Following Sunday's goalless draw against CSKA, Eto's pointed the finger at the country's pitches.
"For me the most important thing is that we play on good pitches. Then the goals will come," Eto'o said.
He added: "The Russian league is a good championship but as for the pitches... It's hard to play on such pitches.
"On good pitches we can keep up with anyone."
