Former Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, Senator Iyiola
Omisore, yesterday, dissociated the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from
alleged security report claiming that Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun
State was planning to islamise the state and secede from Nigeria.
He argued that evidence on the ground was enough to substantiate the allegations.
Omisore, a former deputy governor of the state, also described the
advocates of regional integration as myopic and selfish individuals.
Speaking with newsmen at his Ile-Ife country- home, Omisore argued
that those behind regional integration knew that the region could not
derive any benefit from such arrangement because it would pauperise the
region.
Assessing Aregbesola’s administration, Omisore challenged the
governor to account for the N250 billion he has collected from federal
allocations to the state since he assumed office.
While dissociating PDP from alleged SSS report claiming that the
governor was planning to islamise the state and secede from Nigeria,
Omisore argued that evidence on the ground was enough to substantiate
the allegations.
